I shared with Valerie that a combination of challenges in my life, including some health issues, juggling a high pressured job and being a busy mum and wife had led me to feel like I had lost a sense of who I was as a person in my own right.  I was feeling quite burnt out, I had lost some of the confidence in my own abilities and was in a loop of self-doubt.

She told me about the mentoring programme ‘You’ve Got This’ and suggested that I read her book which would help me decide if it was the right programme for me.  After reading the book, I signed up to the programme, meeting with Valerie on a weekly basis and in between reading the book and completing the exercises.  At first I was sceptical and wondering how and if it would help me, but after speaking to Valerie, she helped me to understand the importance of defining what I wanted to achieve and writing it down, in a way a contract to myself that I was signing up to something that I was committed to . tbc…
