Featuring Louise Bates, our 12th Author of many responding to our Book Donor Call for #SheReadsSheLeads, an idea sparked during a Mentoring Session between Valerie Dwyer and Meg Zanker, joined by Sue Williams.
Louise joins as we are emerging and morphing an identity that is living on after #IWD as new #Authors keep joining in and new books keep arriving for new readers, whose feedback we are collecting and will share. Louise has been working as a complementary therapist since 1999 and has a busy private practice. She is a reiki master and qualified in many other healing modalities including reflexology, aromatherapy, Indian head massage, mindfulness, EFT, NLP and much more.
She learned how to meditate when her children were young. This helped her to relax and connect to a deeper peace. The loss of a child is unimaginable, but Louise managed to turn this heart-breaking experience into something positive. By sharing her letters, insights, thoughts and feelings with the world she is not only keeping Matthew’s memory alive but also giving hope to other people that life can meaningful again after the death of a loved one. What is She Reads, She Leads?
‘She Reads, She Leads’ aim is to celebrate, empower and inspire women in communities through the gift of a book donated by female authors and publishers, with a particular focus on personal development, non-fiction books.
Partnering with the Hucknall branch of the Women’s Institute, female authors and publishers are showing their support for women in March and now beyond by donating copies of their books to be wrapped and distributed within Hucknall WI’s community and (now) further afield .
In particular we want to reach women in education, business or who may be facing difficult times. In March we celebrated International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month and World Book Day. When better to empower and inspire women and we are living on!
